Good book for beginners Good book for beginners, for advanced students I would recommend the Clayden. The kindle price is ok, the price for the hardcover is not justified. I think the book does a good job teaching the subject, but it is not as rich and intellectually entertaining as the Clayden.It does the job This book is very pretty and has some nice pictures and explanations, but some of it was really hard to follow. I did excellent in General Chemistry but trying to keep up with some of the explanations was really challenging for me. Perhaps it was just the material, but I found the professor's explanations more useful than the text (usually it is the other way around for me), though the text was a good supplement. If you are taking Organic Chemistry, I would recommend working through Organic Chemistry as a Second Language before you start the term. You'll find it much easier to keep up in class.Community college biology courses were interesting. The textbook was ... Community college biology courses were interesting. The textbook was fully detailed up to the point that I didn't want to put it down. Biology was tough, but became easier via this book.
